KVDA Tree Seedlings Program

Restoring Kenya's ecosystems through quality tree seedlings for environmental conservation, agroforestry, and sustainable land management

Our Seedlings Program

KVDA's Tree Seedlings Program is a cornerstone initiative designed to combat environmental degradation in the Kerio Valley and surrounding arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs). We produce over 500,000 quality tree seedlings annually.

Our nurseries specialize in indigenous and exotic species that are drought-resistant, fast-growing, and suitable for various applications including soil conservation, windbreaks, fodder production, and timber.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time to plant tree seedlings?

The best time to plant is at the beginning of the rainy season (March-May and October-December in most regions). This ensures adequate water for establishment without the need for intensive irrigation.

How long do seedlings survive after purchase?

Our seedlings can survive up to 2 weeks after purchase if properly cared for. We recommend planting within 7 days for optimal survival rates. Keep them in shade and water regularly until planting.

Do you provide technical support after purchase?

Yes! We offer comprehensive aftercare support including planting guidance, pest management advice, and periodic site visits for large orders. Our extension team is available throughout the growing season.

What is your seedling survival guarantee?

We guarantee 95% survival rate when our planting and care instructions are followed. For orders above 1,000 seedlings, we offer free replacement for seedlings that don't survive within the first 3 months (subject to terms and conditions).

Can you customize seedling varieties for specific projects?

Absolutely! We work with communities, schools, and organizations to develop customized seedling packages based on their specific needs, climate conditions, and project objectives. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
